Each day\, we anchor in secluded bays or smal l fishing villages and set out on a ski tour amidst the breathtaking scene ry — the glittering white mountains contrasting with the deep blue sea. Afternoons and evenings are spent fishing on deck\, enjoying a glass of wi ne in the wood-paneled saloon\, or relaxing in the warm hot tub on the shi p’s aft deck. A quick dip in the cool waters of the Norwegian fjords ref reshes tired legs\, readying them for the next day’s ski adventure. Each day a new adventure As Ylva sails between anchorages and harbors\, new pe aks and new possibilities emerge. Friday - Embark and meet the crew Depart ure from Tromsø\, the “Paris of the North.” Famous polar explorers su ch as Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen set out from Tromsø by ship on t heir expeditions. We won’t be venturing quite as far from civilization\, but secluded bays and spectacular ski touring mountains are still the goa l of this Ski & Sail tour. At the harbor\, your skipper will already be wa iting for you. We’ll spend the first night in the harbor of Tromsø. Sat urday to Thursday - From peak to peak Early Saturday morning\, we leave th e harbor and set course for the Lyngen alps. Several slopes are available to us over the next days\, and depending on the conditions\, our experienc ed guides choose the best destination for each day. From the summits\, we take in panoramic views of the fjords\, the peninsula\, and its surroundin g islands. Each descent takes us back down to the ship\, where a warm and nourishing meal is waiting for us.
